“Offensive Ideas” – Campaign for Free Expression

IRSHAD supports freedom of speech and the right of descent.  Islamically, IRSHAD sees that the movement of the mind is respected even if it leads to change of one’s religion or faith.  IRSHAD sees, through the historical context of jurisprudence, that the Islamic stance against apostasy was one against political treason and not against change of faith.  The ISLAMIC Principle of “THERE IS NO COMPULSION IN RELIGION” (لا إكراه في الدين) over rides any attempt to silence descent or change or abandoning of religion.
